Queen Elizabeth II is dead.
The monarch died at the age of 96 at Balmoral, ending a remarkable reign of more than 70 years.
In a sombre statement, Buckingham Palace today confirmed Her Majesty Elizabeth II, the longest-serving monarch in British history, had passed away - making her son, Charles, King, Sun UK reported.
