Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, recently made waves with his comments on the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria. As an influential and socially conscious figure, Falz had a lot to say on the issue and made it clear that he wouldn’t tolerate any sort of evil mindset when it comes to politics. With a strong stance on his beliefs, Falz made headlines worldwide by articulating his stern stance on the matter in a very direct manner.
In his recent tweet, Falz mentioned that he has been deliberate about eliminating people with a certain mindset and character from his circle of friends, as he considers that anyone who has shown themselves to be evil must be weeded out. His remarks were met with both praise and criticism, as some saw his words as encouraging a sense of moral superiority, while others saw it as an attempt to rally people together in spite of the divisive political climate.
It is also noteworthy that Falz has not just been vocal in his opinion on who should be running the country and who should be part of his circle; he has also actively demonstrated, through his music and other media, his displeasure with how leaders, who should be honourable, have been treating the country’s citizens. His track, “Talk”, which castigates political leaders who have no respect for the people has been quite popular among Nigerians, as it speaks to the hearts and minds of those who have experienced similar situations.
The artiste wrote;
If there’s anything I’ve been doing in the last couple of days, it’s weeding.
Removing people that have shown themselves to be evil from my space. Tueh ?— Bop Daddy (@falzthebahdguy) March 4, 2023
